EeePC Default Root Password and How to Reset It
EeePC Default Root Password and How to Reset It
Solution
When you set up your Eee PC for the first time you are asked to set a PC for your account/username. This password is the same password as your root password. There is no default password as you set it straight away when starting the Eee PC.
If for any reason you have forgotten your password or managed to make a typo while typing it there is a quick way to reset it.
First bring up a terminal by (Ctrl+Alt+t)
Next type: sudo su
Next type: passwd
The terminal will now ask you to type in your new password and to confirm it.
Your root password has now been reset so remember it this time.
